Welcoming the warmth.
It’s been almost two year since we moved into our Connecticut townhouse. Initially it was painted white to clean it up for our move. We purchased it at the beginning of the pandemic. I blame my decision not to bring in color partly because we were living in a sterile state of mind and matter. Well since then, although pleasant, my home was lacking the visual warmth that I crave. It had bright pops of color but I needed to feel my home hug me and that means warm walls.
Painting our entire home is not an option at the moment. We have unreachably high ceilings in some areas and honestly it’s not necessary. We were lucky enough to have wainscoting when we moved in, so that focus immediately became the remedy for our dilemma. Warming up an architectural detail can not only accentuate its beauty but it can also change the feel of an entire room.
There was enough blue in the room so I wanted to compliment it. Benjamin Moore’s “Scenic Drive,” was my color of choice and I love it! It has grounded the space, provided warmth, compliments my already existing color palette but mostly gives me that warm feeling, like a hug when I’m in the space.
The scenic paint makes us much happier and my yellow runner looks happier to with a green compliment. I’ll be doing other small improvements to my home. I hope you stay along for the journey
